Stephen and I were blessed to have spent the last few days in St. Louis on a mid-summer get-a-way. We figured while we live in the mid-west that we should go and enjoy the heart of the mid-west and I LOVED it!
We stayed just a few blocks from the St. Louis arch and we decided to walk over and check it out. It was really well designed. You enter in and there is a great museum covering the history of Lewis and Clark, the pioneers and history of Westward Expansion. Then to get to the top of the arch you ride in these circular pod-thingys. Yep, pod-thingys.
After visiting the arch we went up to eat at the 360. One of the coolest restaurants with the best views in town. It overlooks downtown and the Cardinal’s stadium.
We enjoyed the St. Louis Zoo… which is F-R-E-E to visit by the way! One of the reasons St. Louis is awesome is the fact that that there are so many free things to explore and enjoy.
Stephen enjoyed the zoo too…
We also checked out The City Museum. I am not sure I can do this museum justice in words. I am not sure I really can explain it in words… creativity meets a junk yard plus a mcdonalds play place and every toy I ever wanted as a child… still doesn’t quite do it.
It was built inside a gutted old factory and extends up onto the roof.
It has caves that you can explore
5 giant slides (10 stories tall!) planes, a school bus, a circus, the worlds largest pencil and a ferris wheel.. what?!
If you go to St. Louis, you MUST visit the City Museum.
We got caught out in the rain and decided to poncho it back to our hotel… made for a fun run through puddles. Totally worth it!
We enjoyed a great trip and totally recommend St. Louis as a place to visit! It was one of our top adventures for sure!
